Environmental and Agricultural Dispute Resolution
The Environmental Mediation Center’s (EMC) mission is to help parties resolve environmental, land use, and agricultural disputes through the effective use of mediation. The Environmental Mediation Center (EMC) designs and administers environmental and agricultural dispute resolution programs. The EMC is a part of the New England Environmental Policy Center (NEEPC), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to environmental and agricultural dispute resolution and collaborative research.
Environmental Mediation Programs
In the right circumstances, mediation is an effective tool to resolve disputes in a manner that is cost-effective for both the parties and the decision making body. The EMC’s environmental mediation programs screen disputes to determine whether or not it would be constructive for parties in a particular dispute to engage in mediation. Agricultural Mediation Programs
The EMC administers the Vermont Agricultural Mediation Program (VTAMP), the official United States Department of Agriculture certified agricultural mediation program for Vermont. VTAMP provides free mediation services to the agricultural community in Vermont. For more information about the Vermont Agricultural Mediation Program click here.
